Best Buy Verizon Galaxy S4 Pre-order Start Today!

 We already posted an article that covered all major Galaxy S4 US carriers and at that time there was very little information concerning Verizon. Unlike other major carriers who already announced the dates and prices of the device, Verizon hasn't even bothered to give the general public a specific date. However, the did come forward recently stating that they will have the Galaxy S4 in stock sometime in May.

 Since there is no official date concerning the Verizon offer, Best Buy has not given out too many information either. However, pre-orders are available and you have to go to either a Best Buy Mobile standalone store or a Best Buy Mobile shop at a larger Best Buy store. While other companies are still putting out landing pages to get your email in order to notify you of the release, Best Buy is stepping forward with their offer quite a bit.

 For $50 you can secure your pre-order, although this is a bit unwise as the actual pricing of the product is not yet known. It is expected that you will, in total, have to pay $200 or $250 if you plan to use a two-year contract. Off contract the device should cost $800 which isn't the most affordable deal out there, but it is a very standard offer.

 So if you like Verizon's services and really want the new Samsung Galaxy S4 then the price with contract looks quite nice. I do, however, encourage you to have a look at what other carriers are offering. If you wanted to buy the standalone device from Verizon then I suggest you get it somewhere else. After all, who wants to pay $800 for that ugly branding that they place on the back case of every device. Yes, I do find that very, very annoying as you may have noticed through other blog posts here!

Galaxy S4 Prices and Release Dates US

Following our last report on the rumored Galaxy S4 release dates many of the mobile service providers decided to step forward and reveal their offers regarding the brand new Galaxy S4 smartphone. Although we did have some glimpse of possible offers as well an official announcement from AT&T, most of the information was unknown to the general public. In today's post we will clarify what the carriers or offering, what the prices will be and when you can expect these offers to be available.

 

T-Mobile Galaxy S4

 T-Mobile will be the first carrier to feature the Samsung Galaxy S4. The new pride and joy of the Android world will begin selling the Galaxy S4 on April 24. So, how much will this device set you back? Well, it'll be $149.99 up front as well as $20 per month for 24 months. This is a subtotal of $480 and a total of $629.

AT&T Galaxy S4

 AT&T took their job as the Galaxy S4 carrier quite seriously and they made their offers publicly available right off the bat. You can currently order the device via their website, but you must also sign a new two-year contract. We covered this in a lot of detail here.

Sprint Galaxy S4

 In spite off the nasty rumor that Sprint will release the Galaxy S4 somewhere in June, the official word is that they will start selling the device from April 27. You can get the Galaxy S4 via Sprint for $249.99 with a two-year contract. New customers switching from another carrier can get the phone for $149.99.

Verizon Galaxy S4

 Verizon has not announced pricing or availability for the Galaxy S4 which is not a major surprise. They are known for being the last in line to get the latest tech, but not everyone is in a hurry anyway. The Verizon employees have, however, confirmed that the company will sell the device.

US Cellular Galaxy S4

 U.S. Cellular has often been regarded as the second Verizon and it is no surprise that they have also not announced any details such as the price or release date of the new smartphone. They have, however, confirmed that they will sell the device.

Galaxy S4 US Release Dates Revealed?

 We have recently covered a story about AT&T's pricing as well as a special pre-order offer from Verizon, but neither of these companies have released official information regarding the actual Samsung Galaxy S4 release date. While many have already pre-ordered the new smartphone from the carriers, no official news has yet been revealed. However, there will always be rumors and leaks in the mobile/tech industry and today I shall inform you of one such rumor. Over night it spread across many micro-blogs such as mine since the "big sites" published it so I suppose many feel that "it must be true". This is, as you already know, a mistake on its own. None the less let us see what this photo has to say.

• AT&T is releasing the Galaxy S4 on the 26th of April
• T-Mobile will offer the Galaxy S4 starting the first of May
• Verizon is falling behind and will offer the smartphone on the 30th of May

 What nobody understand however, is that above it is stated "tentative" which means that this is just a test date and is probably by no means real. However, I would not be surprised if the truth is anything like this, since Verizon has a history of being late. AT&T Galaxy S4 pricing details have already been announced and pre-orders are starting today via their official website. This, I believe that there is truth to the rumor that they will be the first Galaxy S4 carrier in the USA.

 There is little information regarding Sprint and their possible offers, but sources say that the company will eventually get the Galaxy S4 in their offer. The employees however have responded that they do not expect the phone to hit their stores until June.

Verizon Galaxy S4 Deal Coming Soon (US Only)

 Verizon is ready to finally clear stock and start on their own Galaxy S4 offers. Earlier this week we reported that AT&T has announced its Galaxy S4 offer. If you decide to sign a contract with them for a period of two years then you can get the 16GB SG S IV for only $199.99, while the 32 GB model will set you back $249.99. Experts are suggesting that this pricing is fair and that we can expect similar offers from other carriers as well. So, what is Verizon up to?

 Well, Verizon is prepping for the new Galaxy S4 release by offering their Verizon Galaxy S III for as low as $99 if you get it via the Verizon Wireless plan. This is a typical move that US carrier pull off when a new flagship model is about to hit their stores. Along with this, Verizon has cut prices on the Galaxy S3 for those who buy it via a contract through their partners. This way, some people have reported that one can get the Galaxy S3 by signing a two-year contract and paying an additional $19.99 through their partners.

 So, when will the Verizon Galaxy S4 finally hit the stores? Well, it is still unknown at this time, but we do know that it has cleared the FCC tests and is about ready to go. Rumor has it that Verizon is planing a major release during this spring, which means the arrival of the SG S4 is just around the corner!

 Experts are worried about Verizon's business model however, since AT&T, for example, has been chewing away on their profit. Verizon was the last carrier in the USA to cash-in on the Galaxy Note 2 and we may see the same thing again. Along with that there is no mention of them including the HTC One or the new BlackBerry 10 device in their catalog which might cause them a lot of damage.

Galaxy S4 India Release on April 25th; Price Under Rs 40,000

 After our release on AT&T Galaxy S4 prices in the USA, here is a report from another side of the world. Namely, this article takes us to India, and our readership from this part of the world will be overjoyed to hear the news of the Galaxy S4 release in this country. Even though the news indicate that the device will be launched on April 25th, it is very likely that the Galaxy S4 will not hit the stores in India until April 27th. The phone will be available for less than 40,000 Rs via contract, while manufacturer recommended price will be around 42,000 Rs.

 We do not have information on whether or not this model will feature the Exynos 5 Octa processor, but it is very likely that consumers in this part of the world will have the same problems as the good folk in Europe, since the Galaxy S4 in these areas will not feature the Exynos 5 Octa. It is a real shame that the octa-core processor isn't yet ready for mass productions since it is a very strong selling point of this device.

 Also, the rumor on the Net is that Samsung is a tad bit worried about the rumored upcoming iPhone 5S which could make sales drop. To counter this, it seems that improved models as well as the Galaxy S4 Mini are on their way. Along with this, the Galaxy Note 3 is going to hit the shelves big soon enough! Galaxy S4 Gets Quite an Ad Campaign in NYC

 Well, Samsung has already invested so much money into their flagship smartphone and there is certainly no more going back! It is all or nothing folks! This is exactly why Samsung is ready to invest even more money into their marketing plan for the Galaxy S4. If you are from New York City and have been to Times Square recently then you already know what I am talking about. Those of you who aren't in touch with the recent story, then perhaps a photograph will speak a thousand words.

  So, Samsung is reminding the world that the Samsung Unpacked event will be held on March 14 in New York City. This is certainly a good move on their part and they will certainly intrigue a lot of people not to mention make the brand more popular. It is hard to say that there is anything wrong with this move to be honest and it is something that ought to have been expected. However, I really hope Samsung has calculated what would happen if their Galaxy S IV doesn't sell so good. Honestly, I hope that they will be able to get all of those investments back somehow, without having to resort to desperate measures.

 Let us remember that Samsung needs to be careful, or else they might end up like HTC. This company had quite a few great smartphones (and they still do!), but a lot of factors have led to this company losing a lot of money! In fact, recent reports show that HTC has earned less money in the past quarter than any other one during the past two years! So, Sammy, here is a bit of advice from an amateur blogger - don't let your ego get you! This means: listen to the users, continue to innovate, make your products as affordable as possible and do not piss people off! I have my doubts about how authentic this information is, but a site a lot of people admire, called AndroidAuthority, puts its reputation on the line saying that the following story is true.

 So, here are the photos of the official invitations to the Samsung Unpacked Event which will be held on March 14, 2013:

 Now, if you compare this to the first fake Galaxy S4 event invitations then you can obviously see that the two photos above are clearly much more professional and much more trustworthy. The first poster is done in the same style as all the previous Samsung Unpacked event posters and even features the event's official logo. The phrases "Ready 4 the show" and "Come and Meet the Next Galaxy" clearly suggest that this will be an event during which Samsung will unveil the Samsung Galaxy S4 to the general public in New York City, but also worldwide via the official live stream.

 The second photograph shows how the official press invitation and media kit look like and this photo was originally published Engadget, a reputable tech blog. The mixture of the the colors that you can see on the word MEDIA as well as the logo in the corner suggest a special type of material which guarantees that this media card is official.

 These special invitations were given to Engadget's journalists during their visit to the Mobile World Congress a few days ago at the official Samsung booth. Sammy is apparently getting tired of all of the new smartphones on the market and has shifted its resources into high gear in order to complete this project a lot sooner than many of us had expected.

 One final question though - what do you think that Episode 1 means? I am guessing that Samsung will first reveal their Galaxy S4 and later show off their Galaxy Note 3. But of course, it also mean that there will be several Samsung Unpacked events for the promotion of the Galaxy S4, although I am personally sticking with the first theory.

The Number of Samsung Galaxy S4 Rumors is Too Damn High!

 Over the last couple of days I have been visiting a lot of blogs in my search for some reliable Galaxy S4 rumors. Over time I came to a conclusion that some of these blogs were inventing their own stories as well as release dates. I know, I know,  I have covered a lot of stories on this blog that aren't very accurate, but I at least never claimed them to be "official news" and always asked my readership to  take these stories with a grain of salt.

 And this all brings me to my conclusion:

Do you think I am joking and fooling around with this Internet meme? No way! I am really serious about this - the number of fake photos and rumors about the S4 is just too much for me to take! So, what is the point of this article, a rant? Yeah, this is a bit of a vent for more, but to make it more fun for you guys and girls, I will actually include some of the rumors I read over the last couple of days. Some are more likely than others and I would love to hear your opinion in the comments bellow!

Galaxy S4 to Feature Touch-free Control

 When Samsung introduced their eye-tracking feature on the S3 which would lock the screen if nobody was looking at it for a pre-set period of time we considered it very cool, but nothing something particularly useful. Touch-free control, on the other hand, is quite a challenge and is far more useful than an eye-tracker. However, this concept isn't exactly new, although I quite frankly do not care who thought of it first.

 So what are the chanced of the Galaxy S4 coming with such an option? Well, the "floating touch" concept has been developed by a lot companies and Samsung can easily integrate Atmel’s latest maXTouch S sensors. This would certainly allow users to make some on-screen gestures on their Galaxy S4, however, these moves would be quite limited.

The Specs

 Most of the rumors actually say the same thing over and over again when it comes to the specs for the most part. The media has agreed that we should expect a 4,99 inch display with full HD. We should also look forward to 13 MP back camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. Along with this, rumors also mention that we can expect Android Jelly Bean 4.2 or even the upcoming Key Lime Pie.

 Some are however very daring and will try to convince you into thinking that the Tizen OS will be the new OS of the Galaxy S series, but I already explained why this is highly unlikely and you can read it at this link: Galaxy S4 Tizen OS - We Disagree!

 However, one thing that people aren't agreeing on where it comes to the specs is the processor. Will the really be the "eight" core Exynos processor or one of their powerful quad-core units? Well, I guess we should wait a bit before we come to any (possibly wrong) conclusions.

However, some blogs would easily win this prize for they have published articles that have claimed so many different release dates that it makes my head swirl and twist in agony! People are mentioning March, April, May, June and July! Wow, that is really not accurate and poor journalism. If you don't have a solid rumor then don't wring anything for God's sake, surely you can find something else to entertain your readership?

Samsung Galaxy S4 Displays Already in Production?

 Tech blogs and media are claiming that Samsung is ramping up the production of the 4.99-inch Full HD display which sources expect will debut on the Galaxy S4. Some of the portal such as CNET are also suggesting that the displays will be ready for the smartphone's release on the 15th of March. Once again, all these reputable blogs don't really have a reliable source, but some of them have been known to get it right so I am ready to guess that there is certainly a bit of truth in some of the major rumors. So, what else do we have to report about the Samsung Galaxy S4?

 This new display isn't something abstract to us since we already saw glimpse of it. As you may remember, Samsung actually first showed off the 1080p HD display on a roadmap at CES 2013. This was fairly recently since CES took place in early January. It appears that the Samsung engineers did a lot of work on the early prototype and that is it ready for massive production. in early January, and it appears that Samsung Display is ready to, or has already started mass production of the new 4.99-inch Full HD display.

 Alright this all makes sense and nobody can say anything against this news since we already saw that the HD display exists. However, where does the news of a March 15 release date come from? Well, from what I understand, the report comes from a Korean publisher called DDaily and was republished by other blogs. I am not sure how I feel about this report since I cannot find the original article and I would probably have a hard time understanding it, bit my guess it is that it is another made-up story, just in Korean language. Then again, the 15th of March isn't such a bad date and it does give Samsung a lot of time to play their cards a prepare a very nice release.

Well, from what I understand, the report comes from a Korean publisher called DDaily and was republished by other blogs. I am not sure how I feel about this report since I cannot find the original article and I would probably have a hard time understanding it, bit my guess it is that it is another made-up story, just in Korean language. Then again, the 15th of March isn't such a bad date and it does give Samsung a lot of time to play their cards a prepare a very nice release.

Galaxy S4 a no-show on MWC

 The World Mobile Congress in Spain will not be the place where Samsung will reveal their new Galaxy S4 device. This is something that I have written about on this blog already in the past and recently it was official confirmed by CNET. This popular tech portal reports that Samsung won't be holding and press conferences as the MWC which implies that the Korean tech giant will not be presenting their S4 nor any other new devices during the event.

 In the past I have said something along these lines and I will repeat it again: the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a flagship and as such it will have its own event during a Samsung Unpacked.

 In another article I also asked - where will the next Samsung Unpacked be held? The Galaxy S3 was released in London, and the Galaxy Note 2 had its own event in Berlin. Samsung is a lot richer and more powerful now than they were back then, so which major city is the new target? 

 We can exclude Asia as this part of the world gets a separate form of release and instead let us focus on the West. This is because the rumors are suggesting that Samsung will be attacking Apple on their home turf. Yes, that is right, we might be seeing the Samsung Galaxy S4 release in the USA! I wouldn't consider this shocking, but I do have my doubts about this rumor.

 Non the less, the release date is getting closer with each day, even though we are unsure about it. Will it be late April or early May? I this this time period is something we can bet on as it is very likely. Of course, take this with a grain of salt and don't hold me accountable if I am wrong!

Namely, a mobile device retailer from New Zealand is running a contest in which all of the winners will get a free Samsung Galaxy S4. The contest will be finished on the 8th of April which suggests that the phone will be either announced or released by then. Have a look at this photograph:

 That looks and sounds great as this is just the news we were all hopping for, but I have to be a bit skeptical about this. Why would a retailer from New Zealand even posses the information that Samsung is so carefully hiding? It makes no sense that this company should have any insight when the new phone was going to be released. And even if they did, why would they so carelessly leak such vital information? Now, I am not saying the phone is fake, I am just suggesting that the company isn't saying - Hey, the Galaxy S4 will be released in April and all the winners will get one. I am rather sure that there is a small footnote somewhere in there that says that the prize is subject to availability and will be issued once it is available.

 In fact, the photo above even says "All winners come to an event in Auckland in late May". I find this part much more important as it may be suggesting that by late May all the prizes will have to be available and this includes the Samsung Galaxy S4. Now, this part of the photo above is great news and any true fan will love it!

 For those of you wondering, this mobile retailer from New Zealand that is holding the contest is 2Degrees and they are an official Galaxy S3 and Note 2 carrier, which means that they could have some insight on the Galaxy S4. Furthermore, this contest is only for employees, so the folks from the company maybe didn't expect any of their staff to leak this information on the Internet.

Non the less, it is the sworn duty of this blog to cover all of these rumors and give you guys and girls an easy breakdown of the most popular S4 rumors. So, shall we start?

Naturally, this isn't their original story and it is just a remake of similar stories of the Internet which have not given us the name of their source. This time it is a source that is close to major UK retailers which really doesn't tell us that much. I will however agree that is no longer possible to think that the Galaxy S4 release date is set to be during the Mobile World Congress this year as this is just way too soon. I willing to admit though that I am hopping that Samsung might show a Galaxy S4 prototype or at least present some of the new technology that will surely be a part of this device.

The company organizes several of these events each year in different parts of the world, but the biggest one will no doubt be the one where they will showcase their latest premium device. The same thing has been done in the past for the Galaxy S3 smartphone during the London Samsung Unpacked and for the Galaxy Note 2 during the Berlin Samsung Unpacked.

 So, that reminds me, do you remember the fake Galaxy S4 release invitation? I criticized a lot of the elements that were just wrong on that photo. For example, it was obviously a picture of a laptop that was displaying a poorly designed attempt at fooling the people on the Internet. But the truth is that we will be seeing real invitations to an event like this one eventually. Usually only the press gets invited to events like this so don't hope to get one of these in your mailbox!

Galaxy S4 Early Presentation in February? Not a Release Date!

 It seems a lot of journalists can't tell the difference between a presentation and an actual release date. The current story is that the Galaxy S4 would be presented at the end of February at the World Mobile Congress (WMC) which I honestly find difficult to picture. I am not doubting that Samsung has been hard at work creating the latest flagship smartphone for their Galaxy S series, but isn't it too soon? Of course, if Samsung does give us a look at the S4 in February, this doesn't mean that the device will immediately be ready for sale the next week.

 However, in all honesty, the Galaxy S4 is a phone that has elite status in the mobile industry due to the success of the previous models. A device like this isn't something that Samsung will just present at WMC, this a sort of device that deserves its own event, and another rumor is that we will see a special event for the Galaxy S4 somewhere in mid-March or at the start of April. A popular blog called SamMobile posted that April the 15th is the day when the S4 will be revealed to the general public and presented. Personally, I wouldn't trust this report, but April seems pretty possible for a presentation date. After all, Samsung is under a lot of pressure since other companies are catching up to the pace and offering powerful smartphone and phablet devices of their own.

 In other Galaxy S4 news, the reports last week focused more on the device's appearance. These reports are claiming that the new Samsung Galaxy S4 will originally come to the market in two colors - black and white, which is a classic approach. Although you can expect for their designer to come up with some fancy names such as Midnight Rush or something along those lines. Another thing you can expect of Samsung is to release additional colors several months after the release like they did with the S3. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing something like Sapphire Black on the S4, but that is just personal opinion.
